A journey through light and color

Dimitris Kyriakos travels a path through light and color that, while initially, looks like that of the great German painter Gerhard Richter, observing his work carefully, one finds that Kyriakos, through his own influences, creates a personal visual path that balances between abstraction and non-abstraction.

Carefully following his progress, from the first monochromatic works and black and white, to the last ones where an explosion is created - diffusion of light and color is truly a revelation.

An apocalypse and an inner and spiritual journey, with emotions pulsating on the canvas and composing a new narrative, where forms, memories, thoughts, feelings and images emerge from the invisibility, in complete harmony, from where the viewer can contrasts his personal experience.

The works of Dimitris Kyriakos seem to emerge from the unconscious, the dream, the imagination and fantasy...

Works that were created during quarantine and confinement, in an extremely difficult time for man and humanity, but which contain great optimism. They seem as if art resists fear, insecurity and ultimately, is the only way to defeat death. –
